Employer of Choice for All: Research & Community Consultation Reports
2008-03-28Managing human resources issues to ensure the Ottawa Police Service has the right skills to meet dynamic and complex operational requirements has been identified by the Police Services Board, Ottawa Police Service and the community for many years.
Building on these foundations and putting the Business Plan into action, the Ottawa Police Service has launched the Outreach Recruitment Project, a long-term proactive hiring and retention strategy to diversify the Ottawa Police workforce and grow our in-house cultural skills and lifestyle awareness.
It is the stated goal of the Ottawa Police Service to become an employer of choice for all policing in Canada.
The Ottawa Police Service worked with the Eric Sprott School of Business at Carleton University and conducted internal research as well to evaluate the impediments a recruiting strategy would have to overcome.
